Ship products and charge for shipping

Sell things you ship, deliver or hand over, charge for shipping, and buy labels on your own Shippo account.

Every paid sale with something to ship, deliver or pick up becomes an order on Sell, Orders. Open it to see what to pack and where it goes, then mark it shipped with its tracking, and the customer gets an email from you at each step.

Set it up

  1. On Products, tap Shipping (it shows once something you sell ships) and set a flat rate for shipped orders, or leave it empty to ship free.
  2. To show live rates at checkout and buy labels here, connect Shippo in the same sheet. You sign in to your own Shippo account and add your card there. Shippo charges that card for each label. Allpage never pays or holds postage.
  3. Set your usual box and a default weight per item, and give heavier products their own weight.
  4. If you're registered to collect sales tax, add your states on Money, Sales tax: type a state and press Add. Customers see the tax on shipped items, worked out from their address. This isn't tax advice: confirm where you must collect with your state's tax agency.

Day to day

  • To ship: open the order and tap Buy a label. The shipping the customer paid for is picked. You see the price and confirm. The order is marked shipped and the customer gets the tracking. Without Shippo, type the tracking in and tap Mark shipped.
  • Pickup: mark it Ready for pickup, then Picked up. A product with a daily pickup limit asks customers to pick a day with room.
  • Subscriptions: a product that repeats, like a monthly bag of coffee, makes a new order each time it's paid. Customers can skip the next delivery from their account until the day before it's charged.
  • Cancel an order that hasn't gone out to refund it and put it back in stock. You see the refund first.

For agents

  • Settings: commerce.shipping and commerce.saveShipping (flatMinor, box, defaultWeightOz). A product's weight is weightOz on commerce.createProduct or commerce.updateProduct.
  • Shippo connects only through the owner: integrations.connect with capability shipping.labels answers a link for them.
  • Orders: commerce.orders (tab) and commerce.order; commerce.markOrders moves one or many; commerce.cancelOrder cancels one that hasn't gone out; commerce.skipDelivery skips a subscription's next delivery.
  • Labels: commerce.labelRates (orderId), then commerce.buyLabel (orderId, rate). Buying waits for the owner's confirmation and names the amount.
  • At checkout, commerce.previewSale with shipTo answers the shipping options; pass the chosen token as shipping to commerce.checkout.
