Form an LLC and get an EIN
Form an LLC, get its EIN and keep up with the state’s yearly filings, with a partner filing for you or step by step on your own. This is information, not legal advice.
This screen is where you form an LLC and keep up with the state.
With a formation partner (doola), fill in the names to try, the state, what the business does and your own details, then confirm. The partner files the LLC with the state in your name, applies for its EIN and, unless you name your own, acts as its registered agent. The state’s fee and the partner’s fee apply, and once the state accepts it, it can’t be undone.
You sign the IRS form for the EIN yourself, from Sign the EIN form. The screen shows where it stands. If the state turns down the names or the partner needs a fix, it says why and you send it again with Fix and resend.
Once it’s formed, the LLC, its EIN and the registered agent go on your business details. The state’s yearly filing shows on Today as its date gets close; mark it done once you’ve filed and the next one takes its place.
Without a partner, the screen walks you through forming it yourself: the name, a registered agent, the state’s filing, then the EIN from the IRS, which is free there. I have this adds an LLC and EIN you already have. Formed somewhere else? Add the state and date under State filings to get the reminders.
This is general information to help you research, not legal advice. Requirements change and vary by location, so confirm with each issuing authority. Allpage doesn’t guarantee it’s complete or that your business is compliant.
