Get paid for memberships every month

Memberships renew by themselves on the card the customer saved. If a card fails we try again and tell them how to pay, and Today tells you when something needs you.

Each membership renews on its date, charged to the card the customer saved when they signed up. Your Stripe account takes the payment in your business’s name, and Allpage’s fee comes out of it.

If the card is declined, we try again 3, 5 and 7 days later and email the customer each time with a link to pay with another card. Their membership shows as past due meanwhile, and they keep their access.

If every try fails, the membership pauses and so does their access. You and the customer both hear about it. Nothing more is charged until you resume it.

When card payments are off or your payments are being reviewed, renewals wait instead of failing: nothing is charged, nobody is emailed, and members keep their access for one more period. Today shows how many are waiting. They go through once payments are back.

Raising a price: members hear by email 7 to 30 days before the first charge at the new price, and it applies only once that email reached them. If it couldn’t be delivered they keep the old price, and Today says so. Anything their sign-up words didn’t cover, like a member price they no longer qualify for, waits for them to confirm the new amount from a link; nothing is charged until they do.

We also remind members 7 days before a free trial ends and once a year, each time with the link to cancel. Members can cancel online anytime from their account page or any of these emails, and it stops at the end of what they’ve paid for. We email them the day it stops, as their proof.

For agents

Renewals run by themselves: a daily sweep charges each due period once through a Stripe invoice. A charge above what the customer agreed to is needs_consent until they confirm it themselves on the link we email (commerce.confirmPrice is theirs alone; no agent can confirm for them). A customer reads their own memberships with commerce.memberships. commerce.agreement shows each charge’s status (held, failed, past_due on the agreement) with its failure words and why (the versions, audiences and adjustments that set its amount). Pause, resume or cancel with commerce.pauseAgreement, commerce.resumeAgreement and commerce.cancelAgreement. A freeze (frozen on commerce.agreement and commerce.agreements) stops charges between two dates and moves the next charge and the end of what’s paid for later by its days: use grants.freezeMembership, which also cancels the bookings inside it; commerce.freezeAgreement and commerce.unfreezeAgreement are its money side. commerce.productPolicies says which cancellation policy each product is sold under.
