A product’s price is what you enter when you add it. Change it any time: customers who already agreed keep their price unless you say otherwise.
A product’s price is what you enter when you add it. Change it any time: customers who already agreed to a price keep it unless you say otherwise, and every earlier price is saved.
For anything beyond one amount, ask the assistant: "Charge $40 a month for the membership with a 14-day free trial." A price can be one amount each (flat), per unit (per hour, per dog), tiered (cheaper in bulk), a deposit now and the rest at the appointment, pay what you want from a minimum, or by quote (customers ask and you reply). Any of them except by quote can repeat every week, month or year.
When you change a repeating price, choose what happens to customers already paying: keep their price, keep it until a date or for a number of charges, move them at their next renewal, or move them after notice (at least 7 days). We suggest notice: it’s fair, and customers aren’t surprised.
A product can have more than one price, like Drop-in and Monthly, and you can see each price and its history.
Every price customers see is worked out the same way, and it can explain itself: which price it used and why.
For agents
For pay what you want, pass payWhatYouWant (minMinor, suggestedMinor, maxMinor) on commerce.createProduct or commerce.updateProduct; null goes back to one amount. commerce.publishPrice publishes a price (leave out priceId to add another price to the same product); commerce.prices lists each price and its versions; commerce.quote prices any cart and explains every version and adjustment it used.
