Charge for shipping and buy labels
Set a flat rate for shipped orders, or connect Shippo to show live rates at checkout and buy labels here. Shippo charges your own Shippo account for postage; Allpage never does.
Without Shippo, every shipped order pays your flat rate. Set it on Products, Shipping, which shows once something you sell ships. Leave it empty to ship free. You buy labels wherever you do now and add the tracking number when you mark the order shipped.
Connect Shippo from Products, Shipping to show customers live rates at checkout. You sign in to your own Shippo account (or make one) and add your card there. Shippo charges that card for each label you buy, never Allpage.
Rates use your box and what the order weighs. Set your usual box and a default weight per item on Products, Shipping, and give a product its own weight under Weight to ship when you edit it. Carriers ship from your business’s address in Settings.
At checkout, customers enter their address, see the ways to ship it with prices and days, and pick one. Shipping shows as its own line, with sales tax worked out on it where it applies. Discount codes don’t take money off shipping. A subscription pays its shipping with every delivery.
To ship an order, open it in Orders and tap Buy a label. The one the customer paid for is picked. You see the price and confirm. The order is marked shipped and the customer gets the tracking by email. When the carrier says it’s delivered, the order is marked delivered and they get an email.
To get money back for a label you won’t use, void it in Shippo before it’s used.
For agents
Read settings with commerce.shipping and change them with commerce.saveShipping (flatMinor, null ships free; box: { lengthIn, widthIn, heightIn }; defaultWeightOz). A product’s weight is weightOz on commerce.createProduct/commerce.updateProduct. Connect Shippo with integrations.connect (capability shipping.labels). At checkout, commerce.previewSale with shipTo answers shipping.options (token, name, price, days) and prices in shipping.chosen; pass the token picked as shipping to commerce.previewSale and commerce.checkout. For an order, commerce.labelRates (orderId) lists rates with suggested; commerce.buyLabel (orderId, rate: a token from it) asks for the label and answers status: buying; it’s bought on the business’s Shippo account right after, then the order is marked shipped (labelBuying on commerce.order until then). If Shippo says no, the owner gets a notice and can ask again.
